Suddenly, sketch!

Tucsonans can choose between two sketch shows at 9 p.m., Saturday, April 5. That would have been unthinkable a mere two years ago. Sketch is popular online and cable TV, but has remained underground here until recently.

Baby Fish Mouth, the sketch team of Tucson Improv Movement, emerged in January, 2018. It’s led by TIM artistic director, Daniel Kirby and performs Saturday at 9 at TIM Comedy Theatre, 414 E. 9th Street. Tickets are $5

A group of enterprising UA students has created Petey’s Big Sketch Show. It debuts at 9 p.m., Friday, April 5, and it continues with performances at 2 and 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6. The shows are in the Cabaret Theatre, upstairs at the Temple of Music and Art and tickets are $10 at the door. Reserve in advance through Venmo @peteysbigsketchshow .

Follow CATcomedy520 on Facebook for news about a third sketch company, Keep Tucson Sketchy. That team had its first show in January at The Screening Room. They promise another this month, including costumes and video sketches.
